Georgetown All Stars Steel Band receives sponsorship of $50, 0000 from the Mustique Charitable Trust

Georgetown All Stars Steel Band receives sponsorship of $50, 0000 from the Mustique Charitable Trust, through the efforts of the Pan Against Crime Initiative.
Kingstown, St. Vincent- September 1, 2011- The Board of Trustees of the Mustique Charitable Trust at their meeting on August 24th, approved a grant of $50, 000 Ec dollars towards the sponsorship of the Georgetown All Stars Steel Band. The sponsorship was secured through the efforts of the Pan Against Crime Committee and the National Commission on Crime Prevention (NCCP).
Administrator, Ms. Lavina Gunn says, ‘the Mustique Charitable Trust is pleased to give support to the Pan Against Crime Initiative through this sponsorship and it is the Trustees hope that the grant will make a meaningful difference to the young people who will benefit from this initiative’.
The Georgetown All Stars Steel Orchestra is one of eight (8) steel pan sides which came into existence as a result of the Pan Against Crime Programme in 2008, the brain child of Prime Minister Dr. The Hon. Ralph Gonslaves. The Steel pan side is currently managed by trainer Marcus Forbes and is home to approximately 40 players.
Mr. Forbes speaking on behalf of the band, says he’s delighted and expressed his appreciation to the Mustique Charitable Trust for their generous sponsorship and pledged to give their all to make the Trust proud’.
Similar sponsorship agreements were realized this year also through the efforts of the Pan Against Crime Initiative and the NCCP.
The Mustique Charitable Trust Georgetown All Stars Steel Orchestra will perform under its new outfit at the Grand Opening of the Georgetown Police Station on Tuesday September 6th, at 3:30 pm.
